Direct Instruction is a detailed phonics-based program designed to teach all reading skills, applying and reviewing them continuously so errors may be corrected immediately

ENCOUNTERING SCIENCE

The Dinsmore Science Studies program is designed to create enthusiasm and excitement through driect experiences with the sciences. Our advanced Science Discovery Lab is equipped with microscopes, models, posters, specimens, animals in realistic habitats, and other materails and equipment. We intergrate laser-disc technology into many lessons and make use of our garden and large campus for additional learning adventures. Our lab is staffed by a full-time science resource teacher who works with all students K through five. Just a few of the things our students experience include building battery-powered motors; planting gardens; observing snakes, tarntulas, frogs and iguanas in thier own habitats; and studying beetles as they go through metamorphosis.
